New Artist Spotlight: UC Lil Kayla Is next Out Of Oakland
UC Kayla (Underground Celebrity) is a female emcee from Oakland, CA. Originally known as Lil Kayla, she found herself drawn to music at a young age, growing up with a recording studio in her home. "My dad would have rappers and singers over all the time; I would wake up to music and become familiar with the recording
process." She grew to realize that she enjoyed music and was creative by nature, participating in talent shows and praise dancing in church. "I started rapping and singing, then I was five and found that I wanted to be a hip-hop artist as a career in the 10th grade.
Inspired by artists such as; Nicki Minaj, UC Kayla is most known for her delivery and creativity. "I have been fortunate enough to work with Too Short and some amazing producers very early in my career." She started as an underground artist, but today, she is on the fast track to the mainstream. "Hearing my song on the radio keeps me passionate; I am very inspired by those who love my music."
With a heart full of compassion, UC Kayla intends on helping her city's homeless one day. "I want to be successful and share it with my city's homeless community. I want to build an organization that will help them with their immediate needs."
As she prepares for the release of her latest single, "Bout a Bag," featuring Detroit rapper Sada Baby, UC Kayla becomes more dedicated to her craft daily, preparing herself for a spot as one of the world's most blunt lyricist. "The world is ready for my sound, and it will be heard everywhere."
