Jackboy Marley Unveils Latest EP “Jackal Pt. 2: The Ouroboros Effect”

Rising rapper Jackboy Marley is pushing hip-hop’s boundaries with his unique sound.

The Texas native shares his new project “Jackal Pt. 2: The Ouroboros Effect”, the latest installment of his “The Jackal EP” series. Marley started his career at the age of 20 and went from being a band member to going solo, to becoming an independent artist. But it’s his drive and passion for music that has gotten him to where he is today – and he’s still going! With four projects already out (Marley Mixtape, Marley Pt. 2 Mixtape, The Jackal EP and The ER Album), the rapper is aiming for success…and legendary status. “I want to be LEGENDARY...trendsetting and a pioneer for a new way people listen to music , that feeds the soul and liberates the mind!”

Jackboy is looking to introduce a new genre of music, as he believes the term ‘reality rap’ has lost its meaning. “I strive to challenge the status quo,” he says. “This may be done over a Lo-fi beat with acoustic drums and simple melody, or it may be more visceral with a heavily aggressive track with assisted guitars, synth bass and hard hitting 808s.” Being influenced by a number of artists, including Queen, Marilyn Manson, Tupac and UGK, has certainly helped him create his own sound. And not to mention, he writes and co-produces most of his songs. So what makes him stand out as an artist? Jackboy says he thinks he has a “very distinct edge” by combining various genres with hip-hop.

His latest work, “Jackal Pt. 2: The Ouroboros Effect”, is not necessarily an album or a mixtape but an “EP on steroids”, as the rapper puts it. On the project, Marley opens up about life and expresses himself through the music and meaningful lyrics.
