NFL cornerback, Josh Hawkins, is now taking the music industry by storm! He was recently signed to the Atlanta Falcons this past April, and is now balancing careers as a professional athlete and a music artist. In the music game, he goes by the name, J Hawk. The artist does not consider himself a rapper, but instead, someone who tells stories with his music. Where do you currently reside, and why did you move there?

I live in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was just the direction God took me in.

As a professional athlete, why did you venture into music?

Music helps me clear my mind. It’s my escape. I enjoy where it takes me.

Who inspires your sound and who do you currently look up to?

There’s a lot of different sounds I like out right now, like Future, Bryson Tiller, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Tory Lanez, Drake, Kehlani, H.E.R…. The list can go on.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career?

I want people to listen to my music and enjoy every bit of it. I want them to feel attached to the lyrics like, ‘Wow, I’m going through, or I’ve been through the same thing.’
