Spotlight In Music: Tra'Von A Williams

Columbia, South Carolina, native Tra’Von A Williams graduate of Hampton University is a pure reflection of what turning passion into purpose means. After graduating with a B.A in Journalism, Tra’Von was able to turn his personal interest into a full-time job. While attending college he took a strong liking to talent management, digital media, marketing, creative directing and even branding. Through the course of his college years he battled with the in’s and out’s of managing and the highs and lows of the marketing and digital business.

During his college reign Tra’Von was known as the “plug” around campus for go to’s including music and events, hosting influential artist like Teyana Taylor, Lil Durk, Bone Crusher, K Camp, PnBrock & more. After graduating he went on to Law School for a brief moment, with the intent to become an entertainment attorney. Although his law school tenure was cut short, during his time at school he began assisting a guy by the name of Yazid Britt, the current consumer and marketing director of Revolt TV. Tra'Von assisted with the college promo in the North Carolina and Virginia area relating to Revolts annual Revolt Music Conference. This is where he made his first solid connections within the industry.

After leaving school Tra'Von went through a tough period having to return back to his hometown feeling lost and confused. With his hustlers mentality he took a chance making a move to the current music capital Atlanta, Georgia. While living in Atlanta, Tra'Von began to foster longtime relationships with creatives such as Cam Kirk and John Rose to name a few. One relationship in particular that really began to change the young entrepreneurs life, was the one he fostered with Kei Henderson, the personal manager of 21 savage and the CEO of "Since the 80's."

Once Tra'Von met Kei at the 2017 Revolt Music Conference he went from being an intern, to a personal assistant, to managing one of her emerging talents Only One Felipe. The experience led him to one of 2018's biggest summer tours "The Rockstar Tour" with 21 Savage and Post Malone. Tra'Von took the initiative and began selling merchandise for the tour, while also coordinating meet and greets. Once again proving himself as a hard worker and showing how he could be an asset to the team. Now Tra'von has been hired as the full time DPS Regulator ( handling all the digital releases) for Kei's "Since The 80's" an artist management, publishing and record company.

Since The 80's represents clients like 21 Savage, JID, EarthGang, Asiahn, Only One Felipe, Hardo, Chase the Money and more. Within 10 months Tra'Von was able to turn his interests and passions into a full time job. So far it has been rewarding.

Tra'Von idolizes moguls like Sean P. Diddy Combs, Berry Gordy, La Reid and his current mentors.
