Is Drake About to Drop Another Project?

Soon as this album drop, I’m out of the deal… it seems Drake is sticking to his words as sources are reporting the rapper is gearing up to release yet another project under a new label.

Drake is currently signed to Young Money/Cash Money and is rumoured to be at the end of his deal. According to Variety, he’s ready to drop another record as soon as he signs a new record deal, but that won’t be anytime soon. As of now, the Toronto native definitely has the upper hand here – not only did he become the first artist to surpass 1 BILLION streams in a week, he earned the largest debut in 2018 with Scorpion and has 7 out of 10 songs from the album on the Billboard Hot 100.

According to label executives, Drake could easily negotiate with a major record label with advances upwards of $20 million per album, or he could go with a streaming service, like Spotify or Apple Music, and earn a whole lot of cash. Another alternative would be a touring package, something Jay-Z considered when he signed a 10-year deal with Live Nation in 2008 for a reported $150 million!

Nevertheless, we’re sure Drake will make a wise decision…and a fire album to go with it!
