Lil Wayne Has Been Free’d From His Contract With Birdman & Cash Money Records

Lil Wayne has had one hell of a time fighting his legal issues with Birdman, but it looks as if Wayne walks free today. Reports surfaced this morning, that the rapper has finally been freed of his contract with Cash Money Records and has regained the rights and ownership of his “Tha Carter V” album.

Wayne's Lawyer confirmed the win with a statement to Billboard, but did not go into full detail.

Here’s what Ron Sweeney had to say:

“Per our settlement agreement, the matter has been amicably resolved to the satisfaction of all parties. In terms of the particulars, were prohibited legally from saying anything further. I can say that my client is happy. He is his own man, a man that owns his own assets, his music and himself. At some point, Lil Wayne will let his fans know whats going to happen next.

Well I know we aren't the only ones glad that this issue is settled. I'm sure many fans are excited about the release of the Carter V, but the questions is when will we actually receive the body of work? Stay tuned as we await for a statement from Wayne personally.
