Montreal-based rapper CJ Flemings has one goal in life - to turn music into a career. For most aspiring rappers, the likes of Notorious B.I.G., Jay Z, and Nas are some of the most common influences, but for CJ, it was the sounds of Atlanta artists, like Young Dro and T.I., that really drew him into the hip-hop scene. Over the past few years, Flemings has found a way to breakthrough into Montreal's hip-hop scene, having worked with producers Kaytranada, Lunice and most recently, L.A. producer Bizness Boi. Not only does he want to put his city on the map and showcase different talents, he also wants his music career to expand beyond Canada.
His debut studio album,Forever Wanted More, was released back in December. The project includes 11 tracks of impressive flows and some catchy hooks. The rapper brings a mix of rap and hip-hop infused pop to the table in addition to his lyrical rhymes. Needless to say, CJ should be given more credibility - he's passionate about his work and he's constantly creating new material. There's no doubt that this record will catch a lot of people's attention and then, perhaps this young talent will get the recognition he deserves.
